An Arizona man, Roger Barnett, was sued by 16 ILLEGAL ALIENS. Earlier today, ordered Barnett to pay nearly $78,000 in damages for emotional distress. On the more serious charges of battery and false imprisonment, Barnett was not held liable.
I the last 10 years, 12,000 illegal immigrants have been turned over to local authorities or border patrol agents. What group could possibly turn in that many illegas? Not a group at all, but a man. A man who owns a 22,000 acre ranch in Southeast Arizona.
It is bad enough that a group of illegals can sue an American citizent for protecting his property, but one of the illegals, according to the Washington Times, "is a convicted felon deported from this country after a 1993 arrest by U.S. authorities on drug charges."
The 16 Mexican nationals were seeking 32 million dollars in damages for violating their civil rights.
Attorneys for Gerardo Gonzalez, the convicted felon, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, said this about Gerardo's conviction. It is "irrelevant to the factual and legal issues at hand and extremely prejudicial."
Duh!
