In an "An Open Letter to my Friends on the Left," professor Steven Horwitz makes a compelling argument of just the opposite.
Also, Randal O'toole, has a great piece, "Blame Urban Planning," on how too much regulation and interference from the government helped not only to cause the houseing bubble, but, in fact, created it.
